Does Medicare Pay for Mental Health Services?

Thankfully, the answer is yes. I am an in network mental health clinician at Still Meadow Counseling LLC. I am also on Medicare's health insurance plan and have been very pleased with it. Please refer to the below websites as excellent resources on Medicare coverage for mental health coverage.

I am 68 years old and have personal experience with old age as well as having extensively studied issues specific to the elderly population. I am comfortable discussing end of life issues such as: depression associated with aging, anxiety about being in the twilight of life, problems with adult children, social isolation/social withdrawal, loneliness, and end of life planning. These are difficult issues to address, but left unaddressed, can cause serious problems for survivors if appropriate arrangements have not been made for your death. It is a topic that is rarely discussed within families, which is unfortunate, because it can lead to family conflict and bitter feelings among survivors. I have found that making appropriate arrangements for death is one of the most loving things a person can do for his or her family members and friends.

In my counseling practice, I have treated many clients whose deceased loved one failed to make appropriate arrangements for their death and the family is left with all types of hardships such as probate and conflicts which arise due to disgruntled heirs who may wish to challenge the Last Will and Testament. I have seen some of these cases go to court at enormous cost to family members of the deceased. As the adage goes: failure to plan is a plan to fail. It is not fair to your loved ones to leave a mess. If you love them. you will take care of them even after your death. That is what love looks like.
